CENFIM organized a three days guided visit for its members and other interested companies to the LIGNA fair 2017 in Hannover, the most important fair for the woodworking sector in Europe. The visit focused the attention of the participants on the main innovations of the sector machineries, tools and technologies. A specific tour was dedicated to the impact of the Industry 4.0 on the new machineries and production processes. These innovations were presented with details by different European and multinational companies and were related to the processes automation and to the machineries interconnection for the carpentry and furniture industry. It helped to make clear that the impact of this fourth industrial revolution is taking a leading role in innovating the industrial processes and the workers roles. DIGIT-FUR project representatives have established relevant contacts to properly exploiting in the project implementation the knowledge of those sectorial experts met during the visits.
